My husband asks me today if I can make a key lime shake and have it taste like the raw key lime pie I slave over. I started to think and remembered I had seen a recipe in one of my raw food books. Sure enough it was in Sarma's book. She has lots of good stuff in her books :) Lucas my husband said he was happy I fulfilled his wish. I laughed thinking oh dear is this all it takes? Really now you know I will be making this shake more often! However this drink THANK YOU LORD is much quicker than the hours it takes me to make a raw key lime pie! WOOHOO This will work out great for our family. Wonder if I will be able to get away with just making this shake instead of the pies.........nah but its a close 2nd to the pie :)
I had to juice the apples and limes then added them to the vitamix with the rest of the goods. I did change her recipe a bit I added another apple and two more limes. I like it tart :) So if you prefer sweeter don't add as many limes.
4 sweet apples JUICED
5 limes JUICED
add to the vitamix :
2 bananas
1 avocado
1 tsp vanilla extract - glycerin based
1-2 2 TBS agave nectar
Blend it all in the vitamix and then ENJOY!
BE JUICED ALIVE!!!
